DAVET was founded by Adeline Mukayirere, a woman with a passion for providing consistent, reliable and better paid employment opportunities to rural women and youth. Since our inception in 2015, we have quickly developed from an agri-vetstore that supplies inputs to farmers in Bugesera into a multi-faceted agri business that amongst other activities, operates its own farm, provides technical assistance to smallholder farmers and cooperatives, and connects them to export markets. We now work with four cooperatives, spanning over 45ha of land and constituting over 600 members and counting!
Leveraging the fiertile soils and favourable growing conditions of the Rwandan
climate, DAVET works with farmers to produce a variety of fresh products for
export. This includes the all-year-round production of french beans(vanilla) and
chili (red thunder F1). In addition, we offer a range of quality produce to our
local market, including passion fruits, beetroots, peppers and mushrooms.
We maintain farm operations and make use of outgrowers in Bugesera, Kamonyi,
Rwamagana and Rutsiro districts
